Episode 8: The Wonder Years

You're all kind of battered, but ALIVE. Luke is at 9 HP and is going to burn a recovery. Kiara is at 13 and might want to burn one as well.

Manny Mo'Jac says, "roll d10+2"

Kiara says, "OOC Burn!"

DaR From Another Place asks, "Didn't we get a full party heal?"

Kiara says, "roll 1d8+2"

Frito says, "...d'oh, that's right."

Manny Mo'Jac says, "roll 1d10+2"

Voice of John Biles says, "Oop, YERS"

There is a staircase inside the coffin; even Vendrik can feel power flowing up out of it.

Samantha says, "maybe we can just barricade the coffin and make off with the loot."

I assume you head down the stairs?

Niamh, oddly, seems nervous and cranky now that the fight is over after being cool and collected during combat. "The real wealth will be down those stairs."

Harrowhark is EAGER to go down the stairs.

Mike says, "OOC: Yar."

Kiara says, "...I don't like leaving something like that out and open and flowing power." Foo...

Harrowhark says, "We have to smash the fear ward at least."

Vendrik heaves himself up, groaning a bit. "Time to finish this."

Samantha says, "because it can't get much worse."

You head down the stairs into a thirty by thirty foot room; in the center of the room is a four foot tall, one foot wide plinth with a glowing sphere; the sphere is the source of the fear. You are entering the room from the west. A crystal coffin holds a preserved body of a young blond elf in his twenties in third age robes, hands folded across this chest; there is no clear way to open it. There is a shelf on the south wall - on it sits a pair of nice leather boots with a little tag on it that reads 'Kiara'. Next to that is a book with the Prince of Shadows' sigil on the cover, but Niamh's name is on a card on top of it. A holy symbol of the Raven Queen hangs on the wall over the shelf with a little tag - Harrowhark. There is a weapon rack with a bastard sword and a halbard with 'Vendrik' and 'Luke' tags respectively. There is an empty space where a tag hangs on the rack with Samantha's name but it's not attached to anything. Three chests sit by the north wall, locked.

Manny Mo'Jac says, "roll 1d20+6x6"

Niamh says, "..."

Everyone except Vendrik and Samantha feel an extreme desire to AVOID the Plinth. They can do whatever they want.

Harrowhark sighs deeply.

Samantha says, "wasn't expecting this."

Niamh seems to take this in stride.

Luke tries to step towards the Plinth, then retreats. "What foul sorcery is this?" he says. "Maybe I should blast it."

Harrowhark says, "That's the fear sigil."

Kiara says, "..."

Samantha says, "something about sleeping dogs....."

Harrowhark says, "It's VERY elegant."

Harrowhark says, "Normally an effect like this would take four or five different wards."

Harrowhark says, "This is just the one."

Luke says, "It's scarier than Grandma on a bad day."

Vendrik advances straight to the plinth, and raises his hand. "Smash, yes?"

Kiara looks over her shoulder, warily.

Niamh says, "Wait."

Luke says, "I vote for smahing it to bits and kibble."

Luke pauses, nose twitching, then sighs. "Kibble and bits... does it matter?" he sounds genuinely unsure.

Samantha says, "because the guy inside won't wake up and blast us all."

Vendrik hesitates... "No smash?"

Kiara says, "Maybe this is some kind of test." She sounds dubious.

Niamh says, testily, "Before we smash the magical object, perhaps let your mage decide whether or not that will cause it to release its energies in a great magical blast."

Samantha says, "if you believe in fate, toss a coin. I believe in being very careful."

Niamh examines the plinith carefully.

Tobias asks, "Shall I roll, John?"

Voice of John Biles says, "Yeah, Make a DC 20 Magical Sage check"

Mike says, "roll 1d20+9"

Result is: (1d20+9) 11 for Mike

Niamh says, "It seems safe enough to me. Let us take these items, and then you may smash."

Vendrik and Samantha can round up the items for you, as the plinth keeps you all back.

Harrowhark goes and takes the item with her name on it.

Harrowhark says, "Samantha's is, clearly, a cloak of invisibility."

Vendrik fetches the weapons, returning the halberd to Luke.

Niamh calmly waits for her item to be fetched by one of the people who can move to it.

Samantha gatheres up the items. page> Akemi [to you]: Vendrik - Haughty Bastard Sword - +1 to hit and damage. Power: When you hit with an attack using this weapon, if that enemy is the most dangerous foe in the battle

Samantha also very curiously pokes about her empty spot

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC Let me talk about Quirks; this only matters right now for Travis."

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC If you have more magic items equipped than your level, then you suffer the Quirks of the items."

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC The item Mike is getting, however, is a Wondrous item and doesn't count towards that. (And doesn't give any all-the-time bennies)"

Harrowhark tucks the item inside her robes.

Poking around the empty spot reveals nothing.

Harrowhark says, "Hmm! Perhaps I was mistaken."

Samantha says, "Hn. yeah. That cost me."

Is Vendrik going to break the globe now?

Vendrik asks, "Now smash?"

Samantha steps away to a safe distance near the exit. "Sure."

Kiara also steps a safe distance away.

Niamh follows Samantha. "Yes."

Harrowhark does as well.

Kiara looks at Samantha. "What'd it cost you, Sammy?"

Vendrik unsheathes his new blade and with a mighty wind up, chops it down on the fear ward globe.

The globe shatters.

Samantha says, "here we go."

Harrowhark looks obscurely disappointed.

Kiara still looks a little twitchy, like she's waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Niamh says, "Now to open those chests."

Niamh says, "I leave that to the lock-pickers."

Kiara shrugs and goes over to one of them.

Smoke rises out of it and forms into the shape of a gnome in third age robes. He is floating and translucent, a ghost. "Finally. Welcome to the Show, boys and girls. With this, my part of this story is FINALLY done and I am finally free to go kick some gods in the nuts a lot. Protip - Don't decide to use you need to know the future, it's only a fucking trap." He sounds pretty irritated about it. "If your names are Samantha, Niamh, Vendrik, Kiara, Harrowhark, and Luke, then my plan is still working and if you aren't, probably everyone dies and this part of the world ends in fire."

He says, "IF you six are hearing this, you're exactly the stubborn bastards this country needs and if not... well, maybe you will find this useful and maybe you don't even know what a gname is any more. Dammit."

Samantha says, "gname."

Kiara says, "..."

Harrowhark says, "I in fact don't know what a guh-name is."

"GNOME. Dammit, I'm old."

Kiara does the twitch-twitch thing again.

Samantha says, "that went better than I thought."

Harrowhark exclaims, "... oh! You're interactive!"

Niamh says, "Interesting."

Kiara gives the image a very wary look. "Yeah, I'm here. You going to be keeping a creepy eye on me now?"

He continues, "My giant invisible flying fortress is going to get hit within the next twenty-four hours, break into chunks and rain down on this entire valley in a giant disaster. BUt that's the way it has to be, if I am right. The Wondercore is inside it and you will have to ensure you get it before someone else does, because you're going to need it if you're going to stop the Stone Thief. I don't actually know how that will help you but it came up as 90% useful, so fuck it."

He says, "I know, none of you volunteered for this. I can't make you do anything."

Kiara says, "...well, that explains the meteors."

Harrowhark says, "..."

Harrowhark says indignantly, "Why is it going to CRASH? Why can't it LAND!"

Vendrik looks vaguely bemused.

Niamh says, "The Wondercore! Fascinating. The potential power of it..."

Samantha says, "a blessing in the form of unintentional attempted murder. okay."

Samantha says, "let's make sure not to get killed by the crashing flying fortress."

He says, "If it landed, imperial authorities would be all over it and who knows what would happen, but I can't take that chance. I killed a harmless old woman so I could make things happen the only way I know will work. Maybe you'll find a better way. I hope you will. But I've set the last of my tasks in motion and now I'm going to go kick divine ass."

Harrowhark asks, "Do you have shutdown codes? Maps?"

Harrowhark asks, "Did you hide an ancient gyrocopter nearby?"

Harrowhark looks desperately at Niamh, who is supposed to know this stuff.

Niamh says, "Will any fragments fall upon Moon Hill?"

He then points at Numo, who squeals and hides behind Niamh. "You know what you did, Numo." Then he says, "It's going to crash into Crescent hill; you'll be able to find the core there, when it goes kaboom. Peace out!" And then he vanishes.

You know crescent hill is south of here, on the eastern side of the valley.

The three chests now spring open.

Niamh frowns.

Kiara says, "Well. Uh."

Samantha says, "seems like a well intentioned ass."

Akio says, "John, I need you to clarify something."

One of them has 3000 SP. ONe of them has 60 10 GP Opals. And one of them has 300 GP. So everyone gets 500 SP, 10 10 GP Opals and 50 GP; make sure you add this to your character sheet

Akio says, "John said his invisible flying fortress is going to get hit, break into pieces, and then those pieces are going to crash on the valley."

Akio asks, "Is that correct?"

Voice of John Biles says, "Yes."

Voice of John Biles says, "And the heart of it is going to land on Crescent Hill."

Niamh consults a map. "Half of the debris is likely to come down across the valley. The other half in the hills."

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC BRB"

Kiara asks, "So if we're supposed to get to this core thing before anyone else, is there someplace to shelter close by?"

Harrowhark exclaims, "Grrrrrr!"

Harrowhark says, "She looks angry."

Harrowhark says, "Mages! And their monstrous, idiotic..."

Niamh coughs.

Harrowhark says absently, "You're one of the good ones, Niamh."

Harrowhark asks, "Does anyone know if we can get a message to Axis immensely quickly?"

Niamh says, "If we hurry to Moon Hill, we could get the population down into the tunnels under the orchard, where the dark elf restaurant and girls are."

Niamh says, "The town is almost certain to be struck by some of the spray."

Harrowhark says crossly, "And we should, but there will be a non-trivial number of fools who refuse to leave their homes on the say-so of foreign mercenaries."

Kiara asks, "How much risk is that going to put us in?"

Manny Mo'Jac exclaims, "OOC Back!"

Harrowhark says, "We should get up to the fortress and disable it BEFORE it crashes."

Niamh says, "That depends how fast we can ride."

Niamh says curtly, "I cannot fly, Harrow."

Kiara asks, "Besides, if it's invisible, how are we supposed to find it?"

Harrowhark says, "Presumably it is the light in the sky that's been wandering all over."

Niamh says, "I would also point out that this fortress is almost certainly defended. In short, to do as you propose, we must come up with a method of flying, implement it in time, fly the distance, land, fight our way to the controls, figure out how to WORK the controls, and then land... and we but do all this within a vague 24-hour window."

Harrowhark swears, but in a holy manner.

Harrowhark says, "I hope the Raven Queen has her ravens devour this archmages eyes by day and by night."

Harrowhark says, "Huge, HUNGRY ravens."

Manny Mo'Jac says, "Luke mumbles something about hippos."

Manny Mo'Jac says, "Luke says, "I think we need to ensure that everyone in the valley is warned. IF the Company of the Golden Spear is here, we can try and get them to go to some of the villages.""

Niamh says, "My council is to ride like blazes for Moon Hill and save as many as we can."

Harrowhark says, "You are probably right, Niamh, but we don't have to like it. Let's go steal some horses from the Company of the Golden Spear."

Kiara says, "Okay, okay, Niamh." She sounds grumpy. "Well, if we gotta do it, let's do it."

Samantha, equally grumpy, follows along silently.

You head back and find the Company of the Golden Spear hasn't left yet (they said two days and it's been one). Ian says, "You look richer, but you also look pissed."

Vendrik says, "Rock falls. Everyone dies."

Ian blinks. "You look not dead."

Niamh says, "We need you to ride around and warn the outlying villages."

Ian says, "Okay but what are we warning them about?"

Vendrik points upward, at the coasting meteor thing. "Rock." He waves around the entire valley. "Everyone."

Kiara says, "Hell yeah, pissed. We got some 3rd age magic guy who claimed he could see the future - well, he got our names right, so I guess he could - say that in about a day there's going to be this big invisible fortress thing crashing down into the valley."

Harrowhark says, "A dead Gnome Archmage has set his invisible flying fortress to explode into pieces above the Valley in less than a day."

Ian says, "...."

Harrowhark stresses the 'Gnome.'

Niamh says, "Within 24 hours that thing in the sky is going to rain down in flaming debris across the hills and valley."

Antonius says, "Dammnation!"

Harrowhark says, "Make sure to tell people it was a Gnome Archmage. They'll be more likely to take you seriously."

Ian says, "We're on our way!"

You hustle out through the tomb.

As you emerge out into the shining of the moon, Ralph comes fleeing towards you, leading the horses. "KOBOLDS!" he shouts.

Kiara asks, "...oh, hell, what NOW?!?"

Niamh sighs.

Samantha says, "oh fuck these guys."

Kiara looks out at the kobolds and roars, "OK, you ASSHOLES! I have not had a good day and I'm pissed, and if you try fucking with us you are going to REGRET IT for the rest of your miserable little lives. About 30 seconds or so!"

Twelve kobolds come into sight; they are accompanied by a black dragon ridden by a thirteenth kobold with staff.

Harrowhark says, "..."

They seem unimpressed by Kiara's threats.

DaR From Another Place asks, "How big is this dragon?"

Niamh quietly steps behind Vendrik.

Ian says, "We'll take the dragon and as many koblds as we can handle! You guys take the rest of them!"

Thankfully, it's a fairly young one, who is basically only slightly bigger than a cow

Kiara's eyes light up and she grins nastily. "Hey, maybe we should tell them about all the gems that we had to leave behind down there."

Samantha says, "damn it all."

Samantha asks, "hey, think that dragon can fly?"

The dragon can, in fact, fly.

And is flying!!

Samantha says, "well. There's a way into the fortress, if we can steal it."

Vendrik says, "Quiet, little one. No telling them about Vendriks extra shinies."

Vendrik says, "Shinies are for me. Not for little dog kobolds."

Regular Kobolds are 17/15/11; leader kobolds are 18/16/12; there's two leader kobolds and ten regualar and the Golden Spear will pin down the Dragon, a leader, the riding guy, and five kobolds, leaving you five kobolds and a leader.

Manny Mo'Jac exclaims, "OOC Initiative, everyone!"

Manny Mo'Jac says, "roll d20"

Result is: (d20) 17 for Manny Mo'Jac

Samantha says, "roll 1d20"

Kiara says, "OOC So what would be involved, mechanically, with talking them into going down to look at the gems instead? Kiara does have a pretty high CHA..."

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC Trying to talk themn into going with you when they can kill you and take it is pretty damn hard. DC 25 on a Charisma check with appropriate background."

Akio says, "We don't want them to come WITH us, we want them to go down after the gems."

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC They have a dragon backing them and black dragons are not big on trust."

Frito says, "Right. Basically, 'You can fight us and you might win, but you're gonna get cut up pretty badly, so there's some stuff down there we didn't have room to carry, and you're welcome to it without a fight.'"

Voice of John Biles says, "The dragon assumes you're all going to die like bitches (to be fair, he's overconfident) and he can just kill you and take everything"

Akio says, "Probably gonna have to fight it."

Kiara says, "OK, look. You can fight us, and maybe you can beat us, but even if you do we'll cut you real bad before you go down. There's a whole pile of gems down there that we didn't have room for that you're welcome to without a fight. Otherwise, we're gonna do this."

Kiara says, "roll 1d20+3+2"

Result is: (1d20+3+2) 16 for Kiara

Frito says, "Yeah, but figured I'd give it a try."

The Dragon looks at Kiara in a way which indicates it feels insulted she thinks it is that stupid

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC Niamh, then Harrowhark, then foes"

Kiara shrugs. "Fine. Have it your way."

Niamh lets Kelias the White's Ray-Invocation of the Great Ice-Bear at the first kobold do her talking for her.

Mike says, "roll 1d20+5"

Result is: (1d20+5) 18 for Mike

Manny Mo'Jac exclaims, "OOC hit!"

Mike says, "roll 3d6"

Result is: (3d6) 8 for Mike

A giant ice-bear slams into the first kobold, knocking him to the ground.

Harrowhark, then foes!

Niamh says, "Snowy! KILL."

Harrowhark blasts the kobold Niamh softened up, and also hides behind Vendrik with Niamh.

Harrowhark says, "roll 1d20+5"

Result is: (1d20+5) 6 for Harrowhark

MISS

Antonius breathes out green poisonous gas on the onrushing kobolds; Ian and Jean rush the kobolds as Andrea does some kind of blessing. Corgin shoots the dragon, hitting it with an arrow.

The dragon flies over your group, however, and spits acid at Kiara and anyone else in the vicinity.

Manny Mo'Jac says, "roll 1d3"

Sniper Ox says, "i don't suppose anyone here has any skiills related to taming dragons"

Sniper Ox says, "I really was thinking we could use that thing to get to the fortress."

Akio says, "Me too, but it's too small, and also, it's a black dragon."

DaR From Another Place says, "Given it's barely big enough for one of the smaller of us to ride, and there's no chance that Vendrik and probably Luke could fly on it..."

Frito says, "From what John's been saying, it's old enough to be intelligent and a person in its own right, not an animal to be tamed."

The acid flies into the entrance of the tomb instead and it rises up

Luke points at the leader "You and me, bucko!" Then he tries to carve him up after LIGHTNING TO THE FACE

Luke SUPER LIGHTNINGS the leader, then stabs him; said leader is barely alive.

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC Vendrik, don't forget to add the +1 to hit and damage from your new weapon"

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC OH WAIT"

DaR From Another Place asks, "You mean Sam, right?"

Manny Mo'Jac exclaims, "OOC Dammit, Samantha is next, sorry!"

Samantha asks, "OOC so if i use the trick to get on the dragon's back, does that consume my entire turn or can i still attack?"

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC I am going to say it counts as a move action."

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC You can still attack."

Samantha asks, "OOC would the attack count as sneak attack?"

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC THis round, yes. Because you will catch him by TOTAL surprise"

Manny Mo'Jac says, "roll d20+8 3d8+7"

Samantha suddenly pops up behind the dragon rider's back and tries to drive her blade into him

Sniper Ox asks, "so the bonuses are level, silent assassin, and what else is applicable?"

Sniper Ox says, "is dex appliccable or is that for damage"

Voice of John Biles says, "Backgrounds don't add to hitting. So it's Dex + Level and a +2 bonus because you got him totally by surprise, which is a total of +6 and then you roll 1d8+1d4+4 for damage."

Samantha says, "roll 1d20+6"

Result is: (1d20+6) 20 for Samantha

Samantha says, "roll 1d8+1d4+4"

Result is: (1d8+1d4+4) 10 for Samantha

Manny Mo'Jac exclaims, "OOC Hit!"

You draw blood and surprise botht he dragon AND the kobold riding it.

Sniper Ox says, "this skill will be much more handy if sam can get gear that'll one shot chuds."

Now Vendrik!

Vendrik roars, and barges right into the kobolds. "Anklebiters should run away before getting hurt." Spend a resolve to give Niamh and Harrow Inspire for +1 to hit until next turn. He then turns to chop down a kobold d20+6 d10+5

Result is: (d10+5) 9 (d20+6) 15

Swish, because Dan also killed a witch, apparently.

New round! Everyone gets Escalation 1 (+1 to hit and damage).

Kiara, then Niamh, then Harrowhark!

Kiara goes after the leader-kobold on Luke.

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC Go for it! You get sneak attack."

Kiara says, "roll 1d20+5+1+1"

Result is: (1d20+5+1+1) 13 for Kiara

SWISH! Niamh!

Niamh points her staff at a random kobold. "Rimururu's Strawberry Ice Cream Ruination."

Mike says, "roll 1d20+7"

Result is: (1d20+7) 24 for Mike

Manny Mo'Jac exclaims, "OOC hit!"

Mike says, "roll 3d6"

Result is: (3d6) 7 for Mike

That kobold will lose his next turn eating the ice cream he is now coated in.

Mike says, "+1 from escalation dice if what you said was accurate."

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC By the way, Kobolds do not take damage from misses."

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC racial power"

Harrowhark!

Harrowhark says, "roll 1d20+8"

Result is: (1d20+8) 28, crit for Harrowhark

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC AHAHAHAHAH"

Harrowhark casually sucks some life out of Corgin and redirects it into Vendrik, who may heal using a recovery.

Corgin shouts, "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?"

Vendrik says, "d10+3"

Result is: (d10+3) 8 for Vendrik

Harrowhark says, completely truthfully, "It gets away from me sometimes."

For a moment, it looks like Corgin is going to shoot Harrowhark but then he curses and shoots at the dragon, while Antonius shoots a flamebolt at it.

To their embarrassment, they don't miss, while Andrea, Ian, and Jean fight Kobolds.

The Dragon tries to buck Samantha off; the Dragon-Shaman points his staff at Samantha and shoots ACID. roll d20+6

Sniper Ox says, "welll shit"

Samantha takes 5 damage and needs to make a DC 15 dex check to stay on; roll Dex + Level + Silent Assassin + 1

Samantha says, "roll 1d20+8"

Samantha rides that dragon like a rhinestone cowgirl.

Two Kobolds attack Vendrik while a third licks icecream off himself. Two kobolds + Leader vs Luke.

Samantha exclaims, "dammit, dragon, I need you for a ride! Keep it up and I will bury a knife in your asshole!"

Manny Mo'Jac says, "roll d20+8x5 d20+7"

Luke takes 10; Vendrik takes 4; Luke at 9, Vendrik at 29. The kobolds add +3 to damage next round.

Samantha, wobbling as her blow fails to disarm her opponent, tumbles off the dragon, though she does a sommersault in the air and lands two feet solidly planted on the head of a kobold attacking Luke.

Vendrik, time to Vendrik it up!

The Kobold is very confused by SUDDENLY SAMANTHA and falls to the ground.

Acting as her shock absorber.

Vendrik again inspires Niamh and Harrowhark for a resolve, and continues to flail in a kobold direction, while looking excessively more menacing than his effectiveness thus far has warranted d20+7 d10+5.

Result is: (d10+5) 8 (d20+7) 21

The ice-cream licking kobold finishes licking himself just in time for Vendrik to strike him down!

Vendrik has only two foes left; ditto for Luke

Niamh raps her staff gently on the ground with one hand, using the other to fling a glittering fan of Dag's Particolored Daggers at the two foes on Vendrik.

Manny Mo'Jac exclaims, "OOC Double hti!"

Frito says, "Well, at least we're getting sorta median rolls."

DaR From Another Place says, "I will take plenty of median over us getting 1s and our opponents getting crits."

Frito says, "Amen to that."

They are not weakened but they are hurt!

Harrowhark blasts a Kobold on Vendrik, and also heals Luke.

Result is: (1d20+9) 26 (1d6+4) 6 for Harrowhark

Each of them is now bleeding and will take 5 points until they use a quick action to remove the dagger stuck in them.

Luke is at 24

Antonius lightning blasts the dragon and Corgan shoots it; it looks badly injured. Three kobolds die at the hands of Ian, Andrea, and Jean, leaving two normal and a hero alive there.

The Dragon dives and chews on Corgan. The Shaman snipes at Samantha

Samantha takes 5, drops to 14 HP

Four kobolds chop away; two at Vendrik, one at Luke and one tries to bite Samantha's ankles

Luke drops to 20, Vendrik to 25. Samantha gets chewed on and drops to 10 and falls down and is dazed (-4 to hit) until the end of her next turn.

Vendrik continues to wail away on the kobolds d20+9 d10+5. He orders Luke and Samantha to Stand Firm for a resolve, each rolling a recovery.

Kiara says, "Don't worry, Sammy! I'm gonna follow up for you!" She folds her arms and nods her head sharply, bink! And she's on the back of the dragon, where she strikes at a vulnerable spot.

Manny Mo'Jac exclaims, "OOC Man, you barely hit but barely is still a hit!"

The Dragon crashes, but Kiara leaps off and lands smoothly as it goes down

This injures but doesn't kill the Shaman.

Two foes on Vendrik, one on Luke badly hurt, it is the time of Niamh

Kiara settles for sticking out her tongue at the dragon. "Teach you to take me for granted!"

Niamh points her staff at the crashed shaman. "Die. Scale-Shattering Torpor-Beam of the Serpent Cull-Priests."

Mike says, "roll 1d20+8"

Result is: (1d20+8) 11 for Mike

Harrowhark blasts at the Shaman as well!

Samantha says, "I was hoping to use that dragon to get to the...... nevermind."

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC Go for it"

Harrowhark says, "roll 1d20+8 1d6+5"

Result is: (1d20+8) 27 (1d6+5) 9 for Harrowhark

The Shaman, though alive, is badly injured.

Then Antonius sets him on fire and he burns to death.

Frito says, "Well, if Samantha wants, we could try healing it and seeing if he'll follow our orders then..."

The Golden Spear chew through their kobolds like a swarm of weasels on crack.

Sniper Ox asks, "it's dead already, yeah?"

Akio says, "Rod, riding the dragon up wasn't a bad idea, but it was only cow-sized."

Tobias says, "It's cow sized. It couldn't carry us all."

Akio says, "It could not have... yes."

Sniper Ox says, "eh, wasn't married to the idea."

Manny Mo'Jac says, "OOC Vendrik, Luke, Samantha, you all get free shots at them as the three surviving Kobolds try to run."

Vendrik flails at the running Kobolds. d20+9 d10+5

Result is: (d10+5) 10 (d20+9) 10

Luke swishes and misses

Samantha aims a crossbow. "Yeah, I'm petty." Roll 1d20+10

Sniper Ox says, ".....hm"

Result is: (1d20+10) 13 for Samantha

Luke shouts at the fleeing kobolds, "Tell your friends the Gospel of the Great Gold Wyrm does not stop for Kobold or Man!"

Niamh ignores them, instead taking a sharp flensing knife and closing in on the dragon for components.

There are all sorts of dragon bits to claim.

Kiara follows up to help, if that'll get it over quicker and get them on their way. "Stupid idiot wouldn't even listen."

Harrowhark says, "Niamh, you'd better share."

The Company of the Golden Spear takes a few claws and that's it.

Harrowhark has her own bone flensing knife.

They then fan out to warn as many towns as they can.

Samantha takes a deep breath and sighs. "Okay. Let's go address the other crisis."

Frito says, "Something poetic about Kiara being the one to call it out and then her landing the finishing blow."

Niamh is happy to share if Harrow does her share of the work.

Harrowhark makes sure to fill as many of her flasks as she can with blood.

Six elven ponies then amble up to you all, looking confused. There's a note with Kiara's name on the saddle of one of them.

Niamh takes blood, scales, the liver, teeth, and acid glands.

Vendrik rolls the dead kobolds into a pile and tosses enough dirt on them to keep the scavengers off.

Kiara looks at the note and twitches again. Then picks it up and reads it.

Luke assists Vendrik, then prays over the bodies

Harrowhark preservers the heart in a big tub of her lamp oil.

Samantha says, "I sense our well intentioned asshole at work."

Luke says, "May you all be reborn with more sense in your next life, amen."

Luke says, "Kobolds and Dragonborn are all reborn over and over until we get the story of our lives right. For some people, it takes a loooong time."

Luke says, "Dragons are the same way, of course."

Kiara reads the note and seems to be going ... in her head, but shrugs and pats the horse on the neck. "OK, looks like a friend of mine got some kind of premonition that we'd need these. Dunno how, dunno why, and when this is all over I might get the heebie jeebies about it, but for right now we kinda need them and I ain't gonna argue."

You all mount up and head for Moon Hill, where we will start next time. (Or we could go longer if you wanted, but this is a special session.)
