“What errand was it that brought you from your comfortable hearth in Frisia to legend-haunted Diocletianople, former Queen of Cities, now an exotic harlot sprawled in Eastaland glory astride the straits of a wine-dark sea? How long have you wandered her labyrinthian alleys and teeming souks, heard the ceaseless yammer of her folk in all the ways of the city, drunk endless cups of bitter coffee? Did you see her many places of worship, heretic and true? Or did you dissipate yourself in her baths and harems? No matter; put that aside. A telegram has come, dire, urgent, insistent. You are to take the Barcalenco Express that very evening to Lorca, crossing the underbelly of the Continent by steam. It should please you to head west again, yet an uneasy feeling comes to you as the gulls cry and the ancient metropolis grinds on around you…”
This is a single long adventure set in a not-Europe referred to as The Continent. It uses an iteration of YAGI1, a diceless roleplaying system with similarities to AmberDRPG as well as large differences. The characters will be extraordinary people but not comic book superheroes or superhuman.
This page offers some information on the setting as well as system and character creation details.
Advice to set your expectations: don't focus too heavily on the details of the world, so much as the tone. Remember that this is an adventure, not a campaign, and your freedom to roam will be limited. It is possible but very very difficult to complete the adventure successfully without ever fighting, and likewise possible although even more difficult to complete the adventure via sheer application of brute force. Both of these extremes though are unlikely to succeed, so you should attempt to find a happy medium and use the most applicable at any given time. Consult with me when making your character, and I will warn you if you are putting together someone who either isn't going to fit well or whose build will be of little use in the planned adventure.
